A fun learning experience for your child’s birthday
Program: Includes information session on safety, care, grooming and tacking. Introductory riding instruction in groups of 2-4 riders. Riding activities are structured to meet the age and experience level of participants. Riding time is a total of one hour with the riding time per rider based on number of riders and horses. A final count is necessary one week prior to the party date so that the appropriate number of staff can be available. Windswept must be advised of any adult riders so that appropriate horses and tack are available. All riders are restricted to walking and limited trotting as assessed by the instructors and what is appropriate for all riders. Individuals weighing over 185 lbs will not be permitted to ride. Riders should be no younger than 5 years. PLEASE REFER TO "LESSONS PAGE" FOR POLICIES, PROCEDURES, REGISTRATION FORM, AND RELEASE FORM.
Scheduling: Parties are generally scheduled on weekends between the hours of 1 pm and 4 pm Parties are scheduled throughout the year rain or shine. The indoor riding arena and barn are not heated so riders are asked to dress appropriately for the weather and time of year.
Safety: Riders- All riders are asked to wear long pants, and leather shoes with a slight heel. Helmets are provided.
All Guests- General safety rules for being in the barn and on the property.
The following are key concerns:
1) No smoking is permitted
2) Parking should be at the arena so that traffic is limited between the barn and arena.
3) Turn in is generally between 3 pm and 4 pm horses are moved from the pastures into the barn. Two large gates are placed across the road, and entrance to the barn is restricted until all the horses are moved and in their stalls. Only staff is permitted in the runway at this time.
4) Children must to be accompanied by an adult and are asked to refrain from running and screaming while working with the horses.
5) Flash photography is restricted. Ask permission before taking pictures.
Costs: Room Rental- Heated, furnished observation room with refrigerator located in indoor arena. Windswept staff will vacuum and clean prior to party. May use for party 1 hour prior to or one hour after party. Delivery from three local pizzerias is available. May decorate prior to party. Trash to be collected and bagged; Windswept will dispose of trash and clean room after party. Room rental is included and parents are encouraged to occupy children with a structured activity while other children are riding.
Horse/Handler Fee:
$50 per horse/ handler per 1 hour riding session.
Maximum horse/rider ratio 1 horse per 4 riders.
Base Fee for two-hour program is $150 (Two horses and facility)
Deposit: A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to hold the requested party date. Parties are scheduled a minimum of two weeks in advance.
***Additional Riding time may be purchased at $35 per horse per hour or part of an hour.
Scheduling: Contact the stables to request the date and time of your party. Call is after 6 pm weekdays. Once verbally confirmed, a letter and information packet will be mailed. The information packet includes release, directions, lesson and safety information. Receipt of deposit confirms your date. Please indicate date on your deposit check. Please review all information prior to your arrival. The release should be copied, signed by the parents of each participant, and the signed copies are then brought to Windswept the day of the party.
